More In-Depth Material on the Design Process
Core research and analysis informing the outcome of this brand refresh project included detailed preliminary studies about the pre-existing brand and its environment along with insights about how the visual brand should align with the overall corporate brand objectives.
These studies included a “Visual Brand Audit,” a “Competitor Visual Brand Assessment,” and a “Customer Visual Environment Analysis” all of which can be viewed through these links.

DataBank Service Collateral Template System Design
A Master Template InDesign document, using dynamic form fields and linked spreadsheet data, allows for the creation of nearly 100 unique Service Datasheet PDF files in a matter of minutes. This system transformed the DataBank collateral creation process allowing for faster and more frequent updates — essentially on demand — and cutting the cost/time ratio of updating from one to two weeks down to less than a few hours.
Modular Iconography System Design
The DataBank Visual Brand uses a Modular Iconography System to help identify and differentiate specific information quickly and to build infographic diagrams that visually convey their product offerings and services.
Working with a library of base icons — with pre-defined meanings — endless combinations can be constructed to help convey more complex meanings than a single icon typically can.

The previous DataBank Brand Typefaces in use were HTF Gotham and Montserrat. These layouts were designed as "interim-use" while the Visual Brand Refresh Project was in progress.
